New Delhi, Sep 2 (NationPress) Delhi's Chief Minister expressed strong disapproval on Tuesday regarding the recent offensive remarks made by Opposition leaders about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s late mother, labeling it an affront to all women.
“The use of derogatory terms against the Prime Minister’s late mother not only degrades the political discourse but also disrespects all womanhood,” stated CM Gupta.
“When a leader resorts to publicly abusing the revered title of ‘mother’, it undermines the very essence of motherhood. This reflects the depths to which politics can sink. It is particularly disheartening that these leaders have yet to apologize or show any remorse,” she added.
The Chief Minister's remarks came shortly after PM Modi emotionally shared his distress over the derogatory comments directed at his late mother during the Congress-RJD rally in Bihar's recent ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra’.
During a virtual address to the Jeevika Didis, PM Modi conveyed his profound pain, warning that while he might forgive the offenders, “the people of Bihar and Bharat won’t.”
He was visibly affected while discussing his late mother’s unjust treatment during the launch of the Bihar Rajya Jeevika Nidhi Saakh Sahkari Sangh, aimed at assisting Jeevika Didis with financial support.
“You all know my mother has passed away. She left us after reaching the age of 100. My mother, who had no ties to politics, was subjected to vile insults from the RJD-Congress platform. This is deeply saddening and distressing,” PM Modi remarked.
“What wrong did that mother commit to deserve such vile insults?” he questioned.
Insults were directed at the Prime Minister’s mother during the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Darbhanga, Bihar, from a stage adorned with posters of Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav, although neither was present at that moment.
Criticizing the Congress-RJD coalition, PM Modi asserted that the mindset that insults mothers and sisters perceives women as weak beings. This attitude reduces women to objects of exploitation and oppression.
