New Delhi, Oct 23 (NationPress) Delhi's Lt. Governor V.K. Saxena and Minister of Art, Culture and Languages Kapil Mishra conducted a thorough inspection of Vasudev Ghat along the Yamuna River on Thursday. During the visit, the Minister shared that this year, the Chhath Puja festivities will occur at over 1,300 ghats.
L-G Saxena and Minister Mishra provided comprehensive instructions to relevant officials, emphasizing that all arrangements must be meticulously completed.
Mishra highlighted that the Delhi government is operating at a rapid pace to prepare for Chhath Puja 2025.
He stressed that aspects such as cleanliness, illumination, security, and traffic management must be finalized promptly to ensure devotees enjoy a hassle-free experience.
Senior officials from various departments, including the Delhi government and the Municipal Corporation, were present for the inspection.
“This year, grand Chhath Puja celebrations will take place at more than 1,300 ghats throughout Delhi. The arrangements being coordinated along the Yamuna are of an unprecedented and historic scale,” noted Mishra.
For the first time, such extensive organizational efforts are being undertaken for Chhath Puja in Delhi, showcasing the government’s commitment and thorough planning, he added.
During the visit to Vasudev Ghat, Mishra remarked that this year’s Chhath Puja celebrations would be the most comprehensive ever.
“Our objective is to ensure that devotees have a clean, secure, and culturally enriching experience,” he said.
“Alongside the Lieutenant Governor, I inspected Vasudev Ghat today and urged all departmental officials to finalize preparations on schedule,” he added.
He continued: “This is a government that delivers results, not just promises. This will be the first Chhath Puja under the leadership of Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and we are fulfilling our commitment to enable worship along the banks of the Yamuna. It is a point of pride for Delhi that devotees can now perform traditional rituals by the Yamuna.”
Mishra also criticized the previous administration for imposing a ban on Chhath Puja.
“Arvind Kejriwal disrespected the people of Purvanchal, but this time, they will celebrate their Chhath festival with honor and dignity. For the last six years, Kejriwal had prohibited Chhath Puja along the banks of the Yamuna, but that is no longer the case. Now, the Delhi government stands with every devotee,” concluded Mishra.
