New Delhi, Sep 25 (NationPress) In a significant accomplishment, the SWAT Commandos of Delhi Police have clinched the top position in the firing category during the 'Clusterised Joint Counter Terrorism Training Exercise', as reported by the Delhi Police on Thursday.
This essential exercise took place at the National Security Guard (NSG) Training Centre in Manesar from August 25 to September 6.
As part of enhancing capabilities for state police forces and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has tasked the NSG with conducting the Clusterised Joint Counter Terrorism Training (CJCTT) Exercises.
Consequently, the NSG coordinated a CJCTT exercise for the North Zone at its Manesar facility over two weeks, aiming to bolster the Counter Terrorism (CT) expertise of CT forces, facilitate National Crisis Management, initiate operations by first responders, develop basic unarmed combat skills, and exchange best practices.
In this exercise, eight commando teams from various CAPFs and state police forces participated, including the BSF, SSB, CISF, Jammu & Kashmir Police, Chandigarh Police, Haryana Police, Delhi Police, and the UP Police ATS.
The participating forces engaged in multiple drills, including day-night firing with different weapons, house interventions, bus interventions, train interventions, slithering exercises, and emerging IED handling trends, culminating in a final competition among the eight teams, as stated by the Delhi Police.
The exercise underscored commando operation drills designed for hostage rescue and terrorist neutralization. To achieve these objectives, tactical CT operations were meticulously planned and executed across various scenarios.
The firing drills were conducted under diverse conditions and timings, assessing skills such as accuracy, trigger control, and sight alignment, according to DCP, SWAT/Special Cell, Aalap Patel.
