New Delhi, June 26 (NationPress) Delhi Water Minister Parvesh Verma assured the residents of the Nabi Karim area in the Ballimaran Assembly Constituency that civic amenities would be provided without any religious discrimination. During an inspection, Verma stated, “In locations such as Ramnagar, Bagichi Raghunath, and Bhadbhuje Wali Gali, many families have been deprived of basic civic amenities for years—this was not due to a lack of resources, but due to their religion.”
“Such a selective and biased approach has no place in modern Delhi. Under our governance, every citizen—irrespective of their faith or background—will receive equal rights and services,” he remarked after engaging with locals and assessing the local infrastructure, such as drainage and water supply systems.
The Minister criticized previous administrations, including the current MLA from Ballimaran, for neglecting equitable development throughout the constituency.
“A clear pattern has emerged—while certain sections received preferential treatment, vast segments of the population were overlooked. Development should not be exploited as a political instrument; it is a right, not a privilege,” Verma emphasized.
He pointed out that religion-based favoritism and vote-bank politics have led to significant injustice, particularly in minority-populated areas where essential services like water pipelines and adequate sewerage were deprioritized.
Verma mentioned that during the prior government’s tenure, numerous illegal water connections were granted in the area, often bypassing regulations.
“I have requested all relevant files. The situation will be thoroughly reviewed. Illegal connections will be reassessed and regularized if warranted, or appropriate actions will be taken if deemed improper. Our aim is a transparent and fair delivery of public services,” stated the Minister.
He also announced that urgent work on upgrading sewer lines would commence, especially in narrow lanes like Bhadbhuje Wali Gali, where open drains have resulted in prolonged health and sanitation issues.
“No citizen in India’s capital should endure overflowing sewage. This is not merely about infrastructure—it’s about dignity. We are dedicated to changing this,” he added.
Reaffirming the BJP government's vision, Verma declared that the era of selective service delivery and appeasement politics is over.
“Those who were ignored and kept waiting for their basic rights will now receive what they rightfully deserve—not as a favor, but as a matter of justice. This government advocates for equal respect and opportunity for every resident,” he concluded.
The Minister guaranteed that all forthcoming projects in Nabi Karim and nearby areas would be executed with complete transparency, accountability, and public input.
