New Delhi, Oct 31 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his heartfelt wishes for the rapid recovery of Shiv Sena-Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (SS-UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut, who has been reported to be unwell.
On the platform X, the Prime Minister shared: “Praying for your speedy recovery and good health, Sanjay Raut Ji.”
In response to PM Modi's thoughtful message, Raut expressed his gratitude on X, stating: “Respected Prime Minister Ji, thank you! My family is thankful to you! Jai Hind, Jai Maharashtra!”
Sanjay Raut, a significant figure within the SS-UBT and the party's chief spokesperson, is well-known for his pointed criticisms of the BJP and the Central government.
Earlier on the same day, he announced his decision to step back from public engagements for two months due to health concerns.
In a letter directed to friends, family, and party supporters, Raut stated on X: “You all have always believed in me and loved me. However, it has recently come to my attention that my health has significantly worsened. I am currently undergoing treatment. I will recover soon. Based on medical advice, I have been advised against going out and interacting with crowds. This is unavoidable. I will recuperate well and meet you in the new year.”
Raut, who has been the voice of the SS-UBT during and after the party’s division, reassured supporters that he would recover and return shortly. The Sena leader, known for his daily press updates from his residence, missed his usual interaction on Friday.
Later, family sources confirmed that Raut has been admitted to a city hospital for medical evaluation.
Upon learning of his health status, SS-UBT deputy leader Sushma Andhare wished him a quick recovery.
“Get well soon. Even though we cannot interact publicly, you will continue to provide ideological guidance to the fight we are waging against the unyielding power here for the next two months,” Andhare remarked.
She added: “When the party’s leader was under attack from all angles, you stood firm and countered those assaults. When Maharashtra looks at you, it becomes evident what a true friend embodies. You are sure to recover well. Not just Shiv Sainiks, but every oppressed individual and anyone worn out by the BJP’s oppression is steadfastly supporting a fighter like you.”
She expressed that the blessings and prayers from the people across Maharashtra are with Raut.
State BJP media in-charge Navnath Ban also sent his well wishes, stating: “Get well soon, Sanjay Raut, and return to the field to resume your press conferences.”
