Mumbai, May 2 (NationPress) - Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut has criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi for favoring film stars and campaigning over taking decisive actions in response to the recent terror attack in Pahalgam.

"When our nation faces a terrorist attack, we stand united with the government in any action against our enemies. However, instead of a strong response, the Prime Minister seems more occupied with campaign trails and socializing with Bollywood icons," Raut remarked.

He added, "Just 24 hours after the attack, PM Modi shifted his focus to campaigning for the BJP in Bihar. Can we endorse a Prime Minister who prioritizes celebrity gatherings over national security? Yesterday (May 1), he spent nearly ten hours in Mumbai mingling with film stars and delivering a speech while receiving applause from legends like Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan. Is this the leader we should support?"

Raut advised PM Modi to dedicate his time in Delhi to strategizing a robust policy against Pakistan. He stated, "However, PM Modi has entrusted all responsibilities to the Indian Army, leaving himself unaccountable. He could learn from Indira Gandhi, who not only relied on the military but directly led with her commands. This is true political will. Does he possess it? Supporting such a government feels like endorsing the arrogance of the irresponsible."

During a national crisis, Raut observed, there appears to be no concern on PM Modi's part. Any responsible leader would have canceled both the Mumbai event and the Bihar tour. Instead, he roams about as if unconcerned. Those who wish to support this administration are free to do so, but he is manipulating public sentiments. Thus, we cannot back him. If Union Home Minister Amit Shah bears responsibility for these attacks, then the Prime Minister should demand his resignation," Raut stated.

Previously, Shiv Sena UBT had condemned the BJP following the Pahalgam incident, accusing it of hollow nationalism. Raut highlighted, "The hypocrisy of patriotism has deteriorated the essence of nationalism in our country during the BJP's reign. In the name of nationalism, several 'armies' and 'organizations' have emerged, causing chaos under the guise of religion. These brave individuals should be sent to Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi to confront the enemy like Abhimanyu, the son of Arjun. Our soldiers are enduring harsh conditions in Kashmir, yet they are dragged into the murky waters of Indian politics. Even after 40 soldiers perished in Pulwama, they did not retaliate against Pakistan, merely engaging in political games once more."

Point of View

The focus should remain on upholding national security and fostering unity during crises. It is essential for leaders to prioritize the welfare of the nation over personal interests, especially in turbulent times, ensuring that political strategies align with the expectations of the citizens.
