New Delhi, May 29 (NationPress) On the brink of marking 100 days since the BJP assumed power in Delhi, State Party President Virendraa Sachdeva expressed satisfaction on Thursday that, after a decade of mismanagement by the former Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), his party has effectively established a positive image for the state in a remarkably short time.
In a press conference, Sachdeva noted that following 10 years of ineffective governance under the Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP, the public entrusted the BJP with the vital task of developing and maintaining Delhi by securing an absolute majority in the February 2025 Assembly elections.
He mentioned that the current BJP administration is nearing the completion of its first 100 days in office.
Highlighting the achievements of the Rekha Gupta-led BJP government, Sachdeva contrasted their proactive approach to former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's tendency for negative politics, where he often blamed the Central government, the BJP, and officials for his shortcomings. The existing administration is focused on addressing the concerns of Delhi residents.
Sachdeva emphasized that the work being done by the BJP under CM Gupta's leadership is becoming its true identity.
On Friday, the Delhi government is set to unveil its future roadmap, along with a summary of its achievements over the past 100 days.
He pointed to several key accomplishments by the BJP government under CM Gupta in this brief period, including the issuance of Ayushman Bharat cards, providing senior citizens with health coverage of ₹10 lakh, allocation of a ₹1 lakh crore mega development budget, dedicated efforts to clean the Yamuna river with budget funds for installing Sewage Treatment Plants on drains, reviving the ailing DTC public transport system, and stabilizing operations by deploying 400 buses under the Devi Yojana.
Additionally, improvements include the installation of GPS in Delhi Jal Board tankers to enhance water supply in slum areas, the introduction of a Summer Action Plan for better water distribution, the initiation of Ayushman Arogya Mandirs (Health Temples) providing free medicines, health check-ups, and X-ray services, and significant upgrades to Delhi's roads with major cleaning drives for drains and sewers.
He also noted enhancements in road cleaning by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
A policy-level decision regarding the Mahila Samman Scheme has been made, with budget allocations in place and a committee actively working on it, with an implementation plan to be announced soon.
The Delhi Education Act introduced by the BJP has also raised hopes among parents in the capital.
Sachdeva concluded: "Unlike the previous Kejriwal administration, where Ministers were rarely visible, the current BJP Ministers are actively engaging in their roles and addressing public concerns on the ground."
