New Delhi, July 22 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta, has given the green light for the Tourism Department’s initiative to host a three-day Teej Mahotsav from July 25 to July 27 at Dilli Haat, Pitampura.

This event aims to enhance women empowerment, promote cultural enrichment, and foster community harmony, as stated by Kapil Mishra, the Minister for Tourism and Art.

According to Mishra, the festival will be inaugurated by CM Gupta on July 25.

She has extended a warm invitation to all women in Delhi to join this vibrant celebration.

A significant meeting took place on Tuesday at the Delhi Secretariat with the Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI) to discuss the preparations for the Teej Mahotsav 2025.

Numerous women entrepreneurs and social media influencers participated in the meeting, offering creative ideas to make the event more inclusive, engaging, and culturally rich.

On this occasion, Mishra emphasized the government's commitment to transforming Teej Mahotsav into a spectacular celebration of tradition, creativity, and womanhood.

To ensure accessibility and inclusivity, entry to the festival will be free on all three days.

The event will feature over 100 stalls, with 80 dedicated to traditional handicrafts and handlooms and 25 showcasing a variety of traditional cuisines from across the nation, as per a government statement.

Traditional competitions such as Mehndi designing, bindi decoration, and rangoli making will offer women and young girls a platform to showcase their creativity.

A dedicated kids’ zone will also be established, featuring storytelling sessions, magic shows, and various educational and recreational activities, ensuring family enjoyment.

Mishra noted, “Delhi is evolving into not just an administrative capital but also a cultural and family tourism destination. We are pleased to present traditional festivals like Teej in a new format that integrates modern technology with public participation.”

Additionally, a Teej quiz and a slogan writing competition will be organized to further energize the celebration. Participants will have the opportunity to win cash prizes of Rs 3,000 for first place, Rs 2,000 for second, and Rs 1,500 for third.
