New Delhi, July 25 (NationPress) The lively essence of Indian heritage was celebrated on Friday as the Teej Mahotsav 2025 was officially launched at Dilli Haat, Pitampura, with the esteemed presence of Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and Minister of Art, Culture, Language, and Tourism Kapil Mishra.

This three-day festival (July 25-27) embodies the essence of tradition, women’s empowerment, and cultural pride, organized by the Delhi government.

Several women MPs from Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, and Rajasthan attended the event. CM Rekha Gupta expressed her heartfelt appreciation for their involvement, stating, “Although the Parliament is in session, my MP sisters found time to join us — it fills me with immense joy.”

In her address, the CM praised the contributions of the Women’s Wing and MPs, recognizing their presence as a highlight of the occasion. “We aimed to make this Teej celebration unforgettable, and today it has become a reality,” she noted. She encouraged women to fully embrace the three-day festivities, saying affectionately, “When there’s joy in the air, my sisters forget the heat or cold and infuse every event with color and life.”

Kapil Mishra shared her enthusiasm, emphasizing the festive spirit and the careful planning behind the celebration. “From the moment I witnessed the preparations and the excitement among the women, I knew this festival had turned into exactly what we envisioned,” he remarked. Referring to the clear skies, he added, “Even the gods are on our side — not a drop of rain today.”

The venue has been transformed into a cultural paradise, featuring over 100 vibrant stalls. Of these, 80 highlight traditional handicrafts and handloom products, while 25 offer culinary delights from various states. Special discounts are available at stalls run by women entrepreneurs, encouraging female self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship.

In her keynote speech, CM Rekha Gupta emphasized that Teej is not merely a festival but a lively expression of women's dignity, community involvement, and cultural legacy. She urged the women of Delhi to participate wholeheartedly and help turn the celebration into a cultural movement.

Mishra added that the Teej Mahotsav is envisioned not just as a cultural festival but as a celebration of creativity, entrepreneurship, and collective pride. He affirmed that the event is free for all, making it accessible for women from all backgrounds. “Delhi is not only an administrative hub but is swiftly transforming into a cultural capital, and events like this underscore that change,” he remarked.

The Mahotsav also includes a variety of engaging activities that blend tradition with modern creativity. Highlights feature mehndi competitions, bindi decoration, rangoli art, traditional swings, selfie stations, and a dedicated kids’ area with storytelling, magic performances, and interactive games to ensure family enjoyment.

To inspire youth and women’s creative engagement, competitions such as a Teej Quiz and Slogan Writing are being organized, with cash prizes of Rs 3,000 for first place, Rs 2,000 for second, and Rs 1,500 for third.

To broaden its outreach, the festival is also being promoted on digital platforms and by popular women influencers on social media, ensuring that Delhi’s cultural vibrance resonates in the digital realm as well.

Preparations for the event were coordinated through numerous meetings led by Kapil Mishra at the Delhi Secretariat, involving the BJP Mahila Morcha, the Chamber of Trade and Industry (CTI), and social activists.

Mishra remarked that the Teej Mahotsav is a heartfelt tribute to the women of Delhi, their cultural awareness, and collective strength. “It’s not just about preserving tradition; it’s a step forward in establishing Delhi as the cultural capital of the nation,” he concluded.
