New Delhi, Nov 30 (NationPress) To enhance mutual understanding of operational drills and protocols, the Indian Army and Singapore Armed Forces successfully concluded the three-day 13th edition of the Joint Military Exercise AGNI WARRIOR (XAW-2024) in Maharashtra.

The bilateral exercise, which brought together the armed forces of both nations, was conducted at the Field Firing Ranges in Devlali, as stated in a press release.

This exercise featured a demonstration of joint firepower planning, execution, and the usage of New Generation Equipment by the artillery divisions of both armies.

Taking place from November 28 to 30, the exercise involved participation from the Singapore Armed Forces contingent, which included 182 personnel from the Singapore Artillery, and the Indian Army contingent, comprising 114 personnel from the Regiment of Artillery.

The primary objective of XAW-2024 was to maximize mutual understanding of drills and procedures to foster joint operations as a multinational force under the United Nations Charter.

The event was attended by esteemed dignitaries, including Lieutenant General Adosh Kumar, Director General of Artillery, Lieutenant General NS Sarna, Commandant of the School of Artillery, and Colonel Ong Chiou Perng, Chief Artillery Officer of the Singapore Armed Forces. The dignitaries commended the participating troops for exhibiting high levels of professional expertise and acumen.

The exercise necessitated extensive joint preparation, coordination, and an understanding of each other's capabilities and procedures, facilitating the evolution of a common interface between the artillery procedures of India and Singapore.

This event marked the successful culmination of training for the Singapore Armed Forces troops, equipping them with insights into Fire Power planning. Both sides leveraged advanced technologies during the exercise and shared best practices as part of their collaborative training.

In the previous edition of this bilateral exercise in December 2022, both contingents engaged in a joint computer war-game as part of the planning process. They also utilized advanced technologies and Artillery Observation Simulators during the joint training phase.

Additionally, expert discussions on modern trends in artillery and refinements in the artillery planning process were also held. The last edition also saw the participation of indigenously manufactured artillery guns and howitzers during its concluding phase.
