Will NDA Regain Power with a Two-Thirds Majority? Rajnath Singh's Insights Before Bihar Polls
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Patna, Nov 5 (NationPress) Defence Minister and prominent BJP figure Rajnath Singh asserted on Wednesday that the pre-election trends ahead of the first phase of polling in Bihar strongly suggest that the NDA will reclaim power with a commanding two-thirds majority.
Speaking at an election rally in Banka to support the NDA candidate, Singh highlighted that the NDA has governed Bihar for the past two decades under Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, asserting that no corruption allegations can be directed at him.
He recalled a time when an RJD chief minister was imprisoned for a significant period.
While not mentioning Tejashwi Yadav directly, Singh indicated that the current opposition's chief ministerial candidate is also embroiled in corruption allegations, with outcomes in those cases being unavoidable.
Singh noted that Bihar once faced challenges in accessing basic amenities, yet remarkable improvements have occurred over the last 20 years.
“In the past, RJD leaders claimed that police would only reach villages after roads were constructed. That time is gone. Today, roads, bridges, electricity, and healthcare services are available across Bihar,” he stated.
He remarked that Bihar’s health budget has surged from Rs 700 crore to over Rs 20,000 crore now, with a substantial enhancement in electricity supply.
“People used to rely on lanterns. Now, a network of roads and bridges exists. Previously, Patna was plagued by fatalities; today, a Metro rail operates,” he added.
Singh criticized the Congress party, alleging that they resisted road development even in border regions.
“This truth is undeniable. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has transformed this anti-development attitude. Presently, India is advancing rapidly,” he emphasized.
Referring to Operation Sindoor, Singh warned that neighboring nations will not dare to repeat such actions.
“If they do, they should be reminded that Operation Sindoor is far from over,” he cautioned.
He mentioned that India’s global reputation and stature have increased significantly in recent years.
Singh reiterated that the Indian Army adheres to one principle — the principle of the uniform.
He advised the Opposition against attempting to divide the Armed Forces along religious or caste distinctions.
