Mangaluru, Dec 15 (NationPress) The police in Karnataka apprehended a youth based in Dubai on Monday for allegedly disseminating posts on social media aimed at stirring up communal tensions in the sensitive region of Mangaluru while residing overseas.
The individual arrested has been identified as Abdul Khader Nehad, a 27-year-old from Panemangalore in the Bantwal taluk of the Mangaluru district.
Reports indicate that he was operating from Saudi Arabia and was posting inflammatory and offensive content targeting adherents of other religions on various social media platforms, including Instagram, with the intent of inciting communal discord.
According to law enforcement, Abdul Khader was posting provocative messages through his Instagram account, sdpi_2025.
He allegedly uploaded offensive and objectionable content directed at specific religions, intending to provoke communal unrest.
As a result, the Bajpe police initiated an investigation and registered a suo motu case.
The police tracked the Instagram activity back to Dubai and identified the suspect. A lookout notice was issued, and his movements were closely monitored. Airport authorities were notified, and arrangements were made to detain him upon his arrival.
Law enforcement received information regarding the accused's arrival at Calicut International Airport in Kerala, where he was taken into custody after landing.
