New Delhi, May 20 (NationPress) Union Minister for Education Dharmendra Pradhan has reiterated India’s dedication to fostering academic partnerships with Imperial College London in the UK.
During a meeting with Professor Hugh Brady, President of Imperial College London, and his academic team, discussions revolved around enhancing cooperation in education, research, and innovation. The focus was on Imperial’s vibrant culture of research, existing collaborations with India and globally, and future strategic aspirations.
“It was enlightening to explore Imperial’s research culture and its global collaborations, together with future plans,” the Minister shared in a post on social media platform X.
The Union Minister brought attention to the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, underscoring its key areas of focus, India’s educational priorities, and the country’s inherent advantages, including its market potential, talent reservoir, and ambitions.
"I envision a strong collaboration between Imperial, London, and Indian higher educational institutions (HEIs) to establish joint and dual degree programs and collaborate on driving innovation and entrepreneurship, co-developing advanced technologies, nurturing a robust flow of STEMB talent, and undertaking initiatives to foster a strong ecosystem in AI, quantum computing, deep-tech, and semiconductors," stated Pradhan.
This meeting precedes the upcoming official launch of Imperial College London's Imperial Global India hub in Bengaluru this week.
The hub is set to provide strategic vision and leadership, significantly enhancing Imperial's collaborative efforts in India.
The launch event will gather leaders from academia, industry, and government to commemorate this milestone and explore further collaborative opportunities in research, education, and innovation, thereby strengthening the ties between Imperial and India.
