New Delhi, March 13 (NationPress) Former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Farooq Abdullah, narrowly avoided an assassination attempt during a wedding event in Greater Kailash, raising serious concerns and condemnation regarding security measures in place.

The attacker, identified as Kamal Singh Jamwal, fired at Dr. Abdullah from behind as he was departing the event. The swift response of the security personnel assigned to the former chief minister prevented the tragedy, and a licensed firearm utilized in the assault was seized from Jamwal.

Congress MP Sukhdeo Bhagat expressed his condemnation of the attack.
