This documentary features segments of Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressing audiences and engaging with women, and it will continue to be shown in theaters until November 6. This initiative is part of a broader campaign aimed at encouraging citizens to participate in the formulation of Panchayat Development Plans for the Fiscal Year 2026-27, as stated by the official.
In alignment with the Prime Minister’s vision of janbhagidari and comprehensive government scheme implementation, the film emphasizes that every individual has a crucial role in determining the development agenda at the grassroots level.
The film also illustrates the essence of various central government development schemes, including those tailored for women, health, solar energy, and school children.
This short film will be featured across cinema halls nationwide, adhering to the Guidelines for Exhibition of Public Service Awareness Films, with exceptions in states where the Model Code of Conduct is active due to elections, as per the official statement.
The film will be presented before movie screenings and during the final five minutes of the interval.
The People’s Plan Campaign (PPC) 2025–26 was launched on October 2 to empower panchayats in creating evidence-based and inclusive Panchayat Development Plans that reflect local needs while aligning with national objectives through special Gram Sabha meetings.
Since its inception in 2018, the People’s Plan Campaign – Sabki Yojana, Sabka Vikas has become a flagship program that has significantly advanced grassroots democracy, institutionalized participatory planning, and strengthened the foundations of self-governance in rural India.
According to the eGramSwaraj Portal, since 2019–20, over 18.13 lakh Panchayat Development Plans, including Gram Panchayat Development Plans (GPDPs), Block Panchayat Development Plans (BPDPs), and District Panchayat Development Plans (DPDPs), have been uploaded, with 2.52 lakh Plans specifically for the current exercise of 2025–26.
Through this nationwide cinema exhibition of the public service awareness film on the People’s Plan Campaign, the Ministry aims to enhance citizen involvement with Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) and motivate them to actively engage in local governance and rural development, as outlined in the statement.
