Jaipur, April 5 (NationPress) "Our thorough preparations and coordination with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), and SpiceJet facilitated the deportation of the infamous criminal Aditya Jain, also known as Tony, an active participant in the Lawrence-Rohit Godara gang, from Dubai to Jaipur," stated Additional Director General (ADG) of Crime, Dinesh MN, while sharing insights into the gangster's capture with IANS.
Aditya was taken into custody by the Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) Rajasthan team in Dubai and brought to Jaipur on Friday morning. Jain, a vital operative for the gang, was reportedly managing its “control room,” providing critical communication support and overseeing dabba call facilities for fellow gang members. He is wanted in numerous extortion cases, firing incidents, and other crimes linked to the gang over the years, as mentioned by Dinesh MN.
His capture and deportation from Dubai were the outcome of a carefully orchestrated operation, he added.
“The entire operation was executed flawlessly, with meticulous attention to every detail. Our team ensured that all necessary preparations were in place, and every task was completed promptly leading up to the day he was returned to Jaipur,” he said, emphasizing that all protocols were adhered to.
As per Dinesh MN, the Rajasthan Police proactively contacted the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to request the cancellation of Jain’s passport. Coordination was also established with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and SpiceJet to ensure a seamless transfer of the suspect. “Airlines are typically asked to allow either the first or last boarding/deboarding for high-profile criminals, along with a special seating arrangement. We successfully ensured this protocol was followed,” he added.
The ADG acknowledged the collaborative efforts behind the successful operation, crediting multiple agencies, including the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), intelligence units, cyber teams, and human resources for their coordinated efforts.
When questioned about the rising number of gang-related ransom threats in Rajasthan—previously more common in Punjab—Dinesh MN commented, “Gangsters learn from each other.” He attributed the uptick in gang activity in the state to the assassination of history-sheeter Raju Theth, who was shot dead at his home on Piprali Road in Sikar district a few years ago.
The murder was claimed by gangster Rohit Godara, who stated it was in retaliation for the deaths of his gang members. Godara is a known affiliate of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Dinesh MN also highlighted the recent advancements made by the AGTF, established by the BJP government. “Since the AGTF's inception, gang wars have significantly decreased. Numerous gangsters have been apprehended, and incidents involving gang-related shootings have diminished,” he noted.
He further mentioned that while decades ago a criminal involved in the Gold Sukh financial fraud case was extradited from Vietnam, this marks the first instance of a hardcore gangster being returned to Jaipur from Dubai.
He commended the efficiency of the e-filing system, stating, “The file progressed in just one day—from the Home Department to the Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister’s Office and back—facilitating a swift and transparent deportation process.”
Jain, who was apprehended in Dubai on March 31, arrived in Jaipur on April 4. Aditya Jain is also wanted for criminal cases in Punjab and is suspected of involvement in offenses in Haryana and Delhi. He had fled to Dubai in January 2024.
Discussing future operations, Dinesh MN confirmed that extradition proceedings are underway for another gangster, Amarjeet Bishnoi, currently residing in Italy. “Correspondence is ongoing, and we are hopeful about bringing him back soon,” he stated.
