Jaipur, April 4 (NationPress) The Anti-Gangster Task Force (AGTF) of Rajasthan Police has apprehended Aditya Jain, also known as Tony, a significant member of the Lawrence gang. The suspect was extradited from Dubai and arrived in Jaipur on Friday.
Aditya Jain was instrumental in the gang's operations, overseeing threat calls from overseas. Acting as the gang's 'control room', he was implicated in extortion and shooting incidents.
A resident of Kuchaman City, Jain hails from a business family. Additional DG Crime Dinesh M.N. mentioned that law enforcement had been monitoring Tony for an extended period. Investigations into numerous threat calls in Rajasthan consistently pointed to his involvement.
Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Yogesh Yadav and ASP Narottam Verma secured an Interpol Red Corner Notice against him. A dedicated police team, including ASP Siddhant Sharma, Circle Inspector Manish Sharma, CI Sunil Jangid, and CI Ravindra Pratap, traced him back to the UAE.
The CBI subsequently issued an Interpol request to the UAE authorities, resulting in Jain's arrest by the UAE police. Upon his arrival at Jaipur Airport around 8 a.m., he was detained for approximately 90 minutes before being transported to Nagaur at 9:30 a.m. It remains uncertain if he will be taken back to his hometown, Kuchaman.
Sources indicate that Jain will be interrogated regarding the threat calls, the gang’s activities in Nagaur and surrounding districts, and its active members. His capture is anticipated to yield vital information to dismantle the Lawrence gang operations in Rajasthan.
Police officials stated that Aditya Jain was serving as a control center for the gang, facilitating communication. He is wanted in multiple cases of extortion, firing, and other offenses carried out by the gang over the years.
Officials explained that based on the Red Notice and Interpol Reference, UAE Police apprehended Aditya Jain and requested the Rajasthan Police to deploy a team. A contingent led by Siddhant Sharma, ASP of AGTF, was dispatched to Dubai. Jain will undergo further questioning, according to the officials.
