New Delhi, April 2 (NationPress) The digital procurement platform Government e-Marketplace (GeM) has successfully facilitated the recruitment of over one million manpower resources by government entities in the fiscal year 2024-25, according to a statement from the Ministry of Commerce & Industry on Wednesday.

The manpower outsourcing service offered by GeM provides government buyers with an efficient solution for recruiting outsourced personnel.

“Reaching the milestone of 1 million manpower resources recruited via GeM in FY 2024-25 highlights the increasing confidence and utilization of the platform throughout government sectors,” remarked the Ministry.

It pointed out that over 33,000 service providers are available on the platform, allowing buyers to source manpower based on various criteria, including minimum wages and fixed pay.

A range of roles, from skilled to unskilled positions such as security personnel, horticultural staff, multi-tasking staff, data entry operators, and facility management professionals, can be sourced through the portal.

“GeM has effectively leveraged digital technology to become a comprehensive platform for procuring all necessary services for government buyers across different administrative levels,” stated Ajay Bhadoo, CEO of GeM.

“Our manpower outsourcing service not only streamlines the recruitment process for government organizations but also guarantees adherence to labor laws through our comprehensive Service Level Agreement,” Bhadoo added.

Founded in 2016, GeM offers government buyers a complete digital platform to conduct public procurement at economical rates.

In FY 2019-20, the platform broadened its scope to include services as a distinct segment, initially providing basic services like manpower hiring, cab services, security services, and cleaning and sanitation services.

Over the past five years, GeM has expanded its offerings to over 330 services, including complex options like drone services, AR/VR services, cloud services, and cybersecurity services.
