Jaipur, Sep 20 (NationPress) Union Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat expressed his appreciation for the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) as they secured a victory in the Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections on Saturday. He remarked that these results signify a strong endorsement from India's youth for nationalism and development-oriented politics.
Shekhawat pointed out that although the BJP and ABVP are not formally linked, they share a collective vision for a robust and progressive India.
Reflecting on the recent DUSU elections, where the ABVP clinched three significant roles, the Union Minister stated that this outcome showcases the youth's ideological alignment with nationalist and development-focused principles.
"The BJP does not maintain a direct organizational relationship with ABVP, but we are united in our ideological pursuit of a strong and developed India," he noted.
He articulated, "This victory transcends a mere student election—it's a declaration from the youth in favor of national advancement.”
Shekhawat emphasized that the considerable margin of ABVP's success demonstrates increasing support for individuals working towards national interests, contrasting with those who "create confusion, question constitutional institutions, and undermine our democratic structure."
"This result reflects the aspirations of the youth—forward-thinking, rooted in national ideals, and committed to propelling the country ahead," he added.
The Minister did not hold back in his criticism of the Congress party, asserting that the language employed by its leaders mirrors the political culture inherited from their current leadership.
This comment came in response to derogatory statements made by the Jodhpur District Congress President aimed at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the BJP.
Speaking to the media after a public hearing at his residence, Shekhawat remarked that such comments contradict the principles enshrined in the Constitution.
"Babasaheb Ambedkar never supported such rhetoric. Mahatma Gandhi, the architect of our democracy, advocated for restraint in both actions and speech. Sadly, those who invoke the names of Ambedkar and Gandhi today seem to stray from their foundational principles," Shekhawat criticized.
He further stated, "This trend of aggression and indecency in public discourse is not new to the Congress; it is a legacy passed down from their current leadership."
Shekhawat praised Congress leader Suparsh Bhandari for denouncing the remarks made by the Congress district president.
"His appeal for an apology and his reference to ‘Kshama Veerasya Bhushanam’ (Forgiveness is the adornment of the brave) is a commendable act of courage," he concluded.
"While we too have the capability to retaliate, our leadership has never endorsed such a political culture," emphasized Gajendra Singh Shekhawat.
"The Congress party needs to reflect on its actions. If it fails to do so, the electorate will undoubtedly respond at the ballot box," he warned.
