Jammu, Dec 8 (NationPress) The Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, remarked on Monday that the nation will perpetually be grateful to soldiers for their heroic sacrifices. L-G Sinha also engaged with Armed Forces veterans at Lok Bhavan Jammu.

He conveyed his appreciation to the Armed Forces and paid homage to the martyrs, emphasizing that the country will always be indebted to the sacrifices made by its soldiers.

The Lieutenant Governor generously contributed to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund.

He noted that the Armed Forces Flag Day, observed on December 7, 2025, serves as a reminder to citizens that supporting the welfare of Armed Forces personnel is a collective responsibility. Each individual is encouraged to contribute in any way possible to support those who protect the nation's integrity.

The L-G urged the public to donate to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund, which is intended to benefit service members, their families, and veterans.

Present at the event were Brig. Pankaj Chib (Retd), Director of the Sainik Welfare Department; Chandraker Bharti, Principal Secretary of Home; along with veterans and officials from the Sainik Welfare Department, including Col BS Sambyal (Retd), Col Manjit Singh Bhau (Retd), Wg Cdr Tirath Singh (Retd), Capt (IN) Kapil Sharma (Retd), Tanvir Singh, Pawan Anand, Jagbir Singh, Subash Chander, and Ms Anshu Dogra.

The L-G previously laid the foundation for homes being constructed for those affected during Operation Sindoor due to shelling from Pakistan. He mentioned that the Human Resources Development Society (HRDS) has signed a memorandum of understanding to build these houses for individuals whose homes were destroyed by Pakistani shelling on civilian sites in Jammu and Kashmir.

Furthermore, the L-G declared that every affected family would receive healthcare insurance and modern amenities within their new homes.

He also indicated that a detailed relief package has been submitted to the central government for the rehabilitation of flood victims, which remains a top priority for the administration.
