Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Gati Shakti Vishwavidyalaya (GSV), India's first and only Central university dedicated to transportation and logistics education, is scaling up its academic, research and industry-linked programmes as Vadodara prepares to host the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference (VGRC) for the Central Gujarat region. The university, located in the Lalbaug area of Vadodara, reported placement rates of 91% in 2025 and 89% in 2026, reflecting growing industry demand for specialised transport and logistics talent.
About the University
Established on 6 December 2022 under the guidance of the Centre and with the support of the Gujarat state government, GSV has positioned itself as a specialised institution focused on developing skilled manpower for India's transport, logistics and infrastructure sectors. An Airbus Centre of Excellence on campus is conducting work on sustainable aviation fuel research, AI-based transport systems, smart mobility and logistics. Research activities have also led to patent filings and the creation of start-ups. Notably, Associate Professor Venkata Chintala received recognition from the President of India for contributions to sustainability-related technologies. A recent memorandum of understanding with Transport for New South Wales, Australia has further strengthened international research and technology collaboration.
