Somnath Amrut Parv: Gujarat CM credits PM Modi for Sanatan cultural revival
Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Monday, 11 May credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with strengthening the spirit of cultural nationalism and the resurgence of Sanatan Hindu cultural consciousness, addressing the 'Somnath Amrut Parv' at Somnath Temple in Prabhas Patan, Gir Somnath. The event marked 75 years of the reconstruction of the historic temple, one of the twelve Jyotirlingas and a site of deep civilisational significance for India.
What the Ceremony Marked
The Somnath Amrut Parv commemorated seven and a half decades since the temple's post-Independence reconstruction — a milestone Chief Minister Patel described as a defining moment in India's national and cultural assertion. He noted that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel's resolve to rebuild the shrine was fulfilled in 1951, calling it a historic turning point in independent India's journey.
