Gandhinagar, Nov 22 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendra Patel, on Saturday presented appointment letters to 4,473 new recruits for Class-3 positions across various state departments. He emphasized that their induction into government service should be seen as a significant responsibility towards nation-building, rather than just a job opportunity.
During a ceremony at Mahatma Mandir, part of the 'Viksit Bharat, Viksit Gujarat' initiative, he urged the new employees to ensure that their actions, awareness, and efficiency embody a government dedicated to public service. "Your function transcends mere appointment; it is a chance to alleviate the struggles faced by ordinary citizens and to maintain a governance framework where the populace genuinely feels supported," he stated.
CM Patel acknowledged Prime Minister Narendra Modi's emphasis on transparent recruitment, digital governance, and effective human resource management, which have been successfully implemented in Gujarat. He pointed to the state's Cadre Management Portal, which monitors over 3,000 cadres, and a 10-year recruitment calendar as essential tools that offer clarity and foresight for job seekers.
During the event, the Chief Minister symbolically handed over appointment letters to 21 candidates, congratulating the larger cohort selected by the Gujarat Subordinate Services Selection Board (GSSSB). He remarked that India’s aspiration to become a developed nation by 2047 necessitates a dedicated workforce equipped with integrity, innovation, and a nation-first approach.
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi also addressed the attendees, congratulating the recruits on what he termed a "milestone moment" for numerous families. He credited GSSSB for conducting nearly 101 examinations since April 2025, highlighting the process as entirely online and transparent.
Sanghavi announced that recruitment for 14,507 new posts in the Gujarat Police Force will be announced by the end of November. This encompasses 13,591 positions in significant cadres such as PSI and Lok Rakshak, along with 916 technical positions. He added that recruitment for numerous other posts in the police department is nearing completion, and appointment letters will be dispatched soon.
Chief Secretary M.K. Das, in his welcoming remarks, stated that government service is a long-held aspiration for many youths and underscored that the recruitment process was executed with total transparency and substantial technological integration. He revealed that forthcoming recruitment drives in the Anganwadi and Police Departments will adhere to the same model.
Additional Chief Secretary Dr. Jayanti Ravi extended her heartfelt wishes to the new appointees.
Among the 4,473 positions filled, the largest segment—2,828 posts—was designated for Junior Clerk (Class-3).
