Ahmedabad, Dec 12 (NationPress) Capitalizing on the international acclaim of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit, which was initiated in 2003 under the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel is guiding Gujarat towards a more detailed and inclusive growth model.
The Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conferences (VGRC) is his latest initiative, designed to highlight the distinct advantages and sectoral opportunities in each region, ensuring that development is distributed across every part of the state.
The Saurashtra-Kutch edition of VGRC will be hosted in Rajkot from January 10 to 12, 2026, as part of this four-region strategy.
To promote this significant event and connect with global stakeholders, the Gujarat government conducted a dialogue session in New Delhi on December 12, with participation from diplomats and representatives from over 20 countries, including Russia, Canada, Israel, Singapore, the UAE, Finland, and South Africa.
The theme of the session, “Regional Aspirations, Global Ambitions,” emphasized Gujarat's commitment to fostering an inclusive, innovative, and sustainable economic environment.
Key sectors for collaboration, including fisheries, ports, the Dholera Special Investment Region, and tourism, were underscored as vital opportunity areas, with in-depth discussions about B2B prospects, partnership advantages, and logistical support for participating countries.
Success stories were shared from the inaugural VGRC held in Mehsana, which successfully secured investment MoUs amounting to Rs 3.24 lakh crore.
Senior representatives from various government bodies, including the DPIIT, Union Fisheries Department, Invest India, and multiple Gujarat departments such as Industries & Mines, Tourism, Maritime Board, and Dholera SIR, were present at the session.
With increasing foreign interest and a renewed emphasis on regional strengths, VGRC is set to be Gujarat’s next strategic advancement: a platform that elevates the state’s “Gateway to the Future” vision from global pathways to regional growth hubs.
Originally conceived as a major investment summit to rejuvenate the state's economy after the 2001 earthquake, Vibrant Gujarat has established itself as India’s most impactful economic summit over the years, drawing heads of state, global CEOs, policymakers, and significant investors.
Each iteration has grown in scope, focusing on sectors such as manufacturing, renewable energy, innovation, logistics, and startups, while presenting Gujarat as a stable, clear, and business-friendly hub.
With two decades of progress behind it, Vibrant Gujarat has evolved from a regional investment gathering into a globally recognized platform that influences India’s economic diplomacy and long-term developmental aspirations.
