Ahmedabad, Dec 8 (NationPress) The Gujarat government took a significant step towards promoting inclusive urban development with the unveiling of a newly-constructed staff housing complex in Navrangpura. This initiative, featuring 44 Class-C quarters, was initiated by the Roads and Buildings Department and marked by the presence of Minister of State for Urban Development Darshana Vaghela.

During her address at the event, Vaghela reiterated the government's dedication to ensuring that employees enjoy safe, dignified, and secure housing. She stressed that delivering quality accommodation transcends administrative duties, linking it directly to the well-being of employees and their families.

Vaghela further noted that the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi of “housing for all” is being fulfilled through various state and central initiatives.

She mentioned the recent inauguration of multiple housing projects in Ahmedabad by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, which have significantly addressed the long-standing housing demands of low-income families, providing them with a stable basis for a brighter future.

The newly inaugurated staff housing complex in Navrangpura is equipped with vital facilities, safety features, and essential amenities aimed at enhancing the living conditions of government employees. During the ceremony, housing allotment orders were formally handed out to deserving beneficiaries.

Attendees at the event included MLA Amit Shah, R&B Department Executive Engineer Riya Modi, municipal corporators, and other senior officials, signifying a further advance in the state's efforts to expand affordable housing infrastructure in urban Gujarat.

Over the past decade, Gujarat’s housing infrastructure has seen remarkable growth, propelled by a commitment to affordable, resilient, and well-planned urban development.

The state has prioritized quality housing for both low-income individuals and government employees through initiatives like PMAY, PPP-based projects, and state-supported rental options.

Major urban centers such as Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot have experienced extensive redevelopment of older neighborhoods, construction of EWS/LIG units, and integrated townships, supported by improvements in roads, water supply, and public transport.

With the implementation of new digital monitoring systems, stricter construction regulations, and consistent investment in urban amenities, Gujarat is establishing housing as a fundamental pillar of its broader 'Viksit Gujarat 2047' agenda, aimed at creating safer, more inclusive, and future-ready living environments across the state.
