Gurugram Police Crack Down on Illegal Online Gambling Call Centre; Three Detained

Gurugram, December 6 (NationPress) The Gurugram Police have successfully shut down an unlawful call centre involved in facilitating betting through an online application, as reported by an official on Friday. This operation led to the detention of three suspects.
The trio was apprehended from a residential complex situated in Sector-103, according to police sources. The arrested individuals are Vinod Kumar, Vineet, and Nirup Bahadur.
Law enforcement recovered five laptops, 19 mobile phones, 19 ATM cards, and various other items from their possession.
As per police reports, a tip-off was received on Thursday regarding an online gambling operation active within the Ansal Estella society, utilizing an online gaming app to facilitate monetary transfers to banks.
In response to this intelligence and under the guidance of Karan Goyal, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) West, Gurugram, the police executed raids in the residential area monitored by the Rajendra Park police station, where they discovered three individuals engaged in online gaming via a laptop and mobile device.
All three were subsequently taken into custody.
"The suspects were found indulging in/promoting online gambling/betting activities. A case has been registered against them under Section 318(4) BNS, Gambling Act, and applicable sections of the IT Act at the Rajendra Park police station, Gurugram," stated Goyal.
The detainees reportedly provided laptops, mobile devices, and other equipment to their associates, earning commissions ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 30,000.
They were involved in creating accounts for users, encouraging them to deposit funds and participate in online games/betting via mobile applications, as per police statements.
The accused are currently under police remand for a duration of four days.
