Bhopal, March 6 (NationPress) A startling discovery emerged from the police inquiry into the explosion that shook the Legacy Plaza building located in the Gola Ka Mandir region of Madhya Pradesh's Gwalior.

The explosion took place on Wednesday in the seven-story structure, resulting in two injuries.

Investigators have found that two reel makers, who were the only victims of the incident, utilized highly flammable cooking gas to produce special effects for their video.

The individuals, who are related, were filming inside a sealed room when the explosion occurred. In an attempt to amplify the visual effect of their production, they opened a cooking gas cylinder, which filled the room with highly flammable liquid petroleum gas.

The situation escalated when they turned on a halogen lamp, igniting the gas and leading to a significant explosion.

The incident, detailed to IANS by an investigating officer via phone, resulted in severe burn injuries to both individuals, identified as Rachna Jaat and Anil Jaat.

They were quickly transported to a hospital, where they are currently receiving medical attention.

One of the injured, Rachna Jaat, is reported to own two flats in the building. Both victims are approximately 35 years old and are in critical condition.

The explosion, which occurred on the first floor, led to considerable damage to the building and the surrounding area. The force of the blast shattered glass windows, created cracks in the walls, and damaged the structure, leaving the neighborhood in disarray.

Bomb disposal units and forensic specialists were dispatched to the scene to evaluate the damage and collect evidence.

Authorities have confirmed that legal action will be initiated against the couple under various sections of the Bhartiya Nyaya Samhita (BNS) for endangering not only their lives but also the lives of others.

Moreover, authorities are contemplating additional charges for the extensive destruction caused to nearby properties.
