Chandigarh, Nov 28 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Haryana, Nayab Singh Saini, emphasized on Friday that the journey towards fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's aspiration for a prosperous India by 2047 is deeply rooted in adopting the 'Vocal for Local' campaign.
He stated that this ambitious goal can only be reached through a substantial reliance on locally produced goods and the enhancement of regional industries.
The Chief Minister initiated the Aatmanirbhar Bharat Rail Passenger Connect Campaign at the local Railway Station, in the presence of Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu.
This campaign is a pivotal move to promote Prime Minister Modi's vision for a developed India by 2047 and to spread the 'Vocal for Local' message to the masses.
As part of the initiative, the Chief Minister engaged directly with travelers on the station platform, distributing informative brochures about Atmanirbhar Bharat.
Later, addressing the press, he noted that in 2014, India was positioned as the 12th-13th largest economy globally.
Under Prime Minister Modi's governance, India has ascended to the fourth-largest economic strength worldwide in just over a decade.
He expressed optimism that by utilizing local products, enhancing domestic manufacturing, and adopting a self-reliant model, India will soon be recognized as the third-largest economy globally.
Discussing railway advancements, the Chief Minister mentioned that under the Prime Minister's guidance, both rail and road infrastructures have seen significant improvements nationwide.
Railway stations are being upgraded to include modern facilities akin to those found in airports. He highlighted the ongoing upgrades at the Chandigarh and Panchkula railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme, labeling it as an example of remarkable progress.
In response to a query regarding the passing of athlete Hardik Rathi, the Chief Minister expressed his condolences, calling the situation profoundly unfortunate.
He assured that the Sports Department and relevant authorities have been instructed to take stern actions against any negligent officials.
He affirmed that Haryana's athletes are a source of pride for the state, with the government standing resolutely behind them.
Additionally, the government has requested a report on the condition of sports equipment available in stadiums throughout the state.
In response to remarks made by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann regarding Haryana, CM Saini stated that sensitive matters should not be politicized.
He criticized Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party for their unfulfilled promises to eradicate drug issues in Punjab within a month, with the current reality evident to everyone.
"Drug addiction is still ravaging Punjab's youth, and crime rates continue to escalate. Instead of taking decisive measures, the Punjab Chief Minister is caught up in political finger-pointing," he added.
