New Delhi, Sep 28 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized the need for India to embrace Atmanirbhar (self-reliance), advocating for a journey towards this goal through Swadeshi initiatives. He urged citizens to adopt Vocal for Local as their primary shopping mantra.
In the 126th episode of his monthly radio show, Mann Ki Baat, PM Modi remarked, "With numerous festivals approaching, shopping becomes a common activity. This time, amidst the ongoing GST Bachat Utsav, consider making your celebrations even more meaningful by committing to use local products. Witness how this choice can elevate the joy of your festivities exponentially."
He encouraged everyone to make Vocal for Local an enduring principle, stating, "Pledge to purchase exclusively from local producers. Bring home products that reflect the effort of our fellow citizens. Using these goods not only means buying items; it symbolizes hope for families, honors the craftsmanship of artisans, and supports the aspirations of young entrepreneurs."
Furthermore, PM Modi stressed the significance of cleanliness during festive times.
"As we clean our homes for the festivities, let’s not restrict cleanliness to our personal spaces. It should be our collective duty to maintain cleanliness in public areas—streets, neighborhoods, markets, and villages," he added.
"This entire season is one of celebration, with Diwali being a significant event. I wish you all a joyous Diwali, but I reiterate: we must strive for Atmanirbhar; the path to this lies solely through Swadeshi," concluded the Prime Minister.
