New Delhi, Aug 31 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the nation on Sunday, urging citizens to celebrate the forthcoming festive season by choosing Swadeshi products and adopting the principle of 'Vocal for Local'. This aligns with the vision of 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat' to achieve 'Viksit Bharat'.
During the 125th episode of his monthly radio show 'Mann Ki Baat', Modi stated, "Currently, the entire nation is engulfed in the grandeur of 'Ganesh Utsav'. The festive spirit will continue to flourish in the days to come."
He emphasized the importance of Swadeshi during these celebrations, saying that gifts, clothing, decorations, and other essentials should be made in India. "All aspects of life should reflect our commitment to Swadeshi," he asserted.
Encouraging a sense of pride in homegrown products, the Prime Minister remarked, "We must advance with a proud declaration of 'This is Swadeshi'! We have one mantra -- 'Vocal for Local'; one path -- 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat'; and one goal -- 'Viksit Bharat'."
On his social media account, PM Modi reaffirmed, "Proudly say, this is Swadeshi!"
In a recent speech in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, he reiterated the need for self-reliance and a focus on indigenous products, asserting that the journey to 'Viksit Bharat' is rooted in Swadeshi. He encouraged manufacturers, traders, and consumers to adopt Made in India as a guiding principle.
"Continuously enhance quality, lower prices, and build trust in Indian products. The people of Hindustan will always prefer local goods," he noted, urging citizens to lead by example through the use of indigenous items, especially in gift exchanges.
At the conclusion of his Mann Ki Baat broadcast, he reminded everyone to maintain cleanliness during the festive period.
"In the midst of the festivities, prioritize cleanliness, for where there is cleanliness, the joy of celebrations elevates further," PM Modi concluded.
