Describing the incident as tragic, he stated: "No amount of condemnation is sufficient."
"During this time of sorrow, the government supports the families of those who have perished in this event. I will pray to God to grant eternal peace to their courageous souls. Stringent measures must be enforced against those responsible for this atrocious act," he remarked.
"The despicable attack on tourists in Pahalgam is lamentable. My heartfelt condolences go out to the grieving families during this sorrowful time. The government is entirely behind the families who have suffered. No perpetrator of this vile act will evade justice," he added.
Among the victims of the attack was Naval officer Lieutenant Vinay Narwal (26), a native of Karnal, Haryana.
He had recently wed Himanshi Narwal on April 16. Vinay and Himanshi had traveled to Jammu and Kashmir for their honeymoon just two days prior.
