Chandigarh, Dec 31 (NationPress) The Haryana Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has initiated a highly effective campaign against corruption, yielding exceptional outcomes in 2025. The bureau documented 251 cases related to corruption, which included 147 trap or raid cases, marking the highest figure recorded over the last decade, as stated in an official announcement on Wednesday.
Throughout these operations, Rs 1,03,15,900 was seized on-site, leading to the arrest of 186 individuals. Among those apprehended, 163 were government employees, which comprised 13 gazetted officers, 150 non-gazetted officials, and 23 private citizens.
On average, nearly 13 government employees were detained each month for corruption, underscoring the government's unwavering commitment and the proactive measures undertaken by the Vigilance Bureau.
In detailing these actions, Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau chief Ajay Singhal noted that of the 251 cases documented in 2025, 147 cases were identified through trap and raid operations, while 104 cases stemmed from inquiries and special inspections.
The bureau has shifted its emphasis from targeting only lower-level personnel to focusing on senior officials who orchestrate and enable organized corruption networks.

An individual was caught in the act of accepting a bribe of Rs 30 lakh, with a Delhi Police Inspector also implicated. Additionally, two Municipal Councillors, one clerk, and one private citizen were arrested while receiving a bribe of Rs 7.57 lakh. In another case, one Assistant Sub-Inspector and two Sub-Inspectors of police were apprehended while accepting Rs 4.65 lakh in bribes.
Moreover, an Assistant Engineer (Irrigation) was arrested for receiving Rs 3.90 lakh, a Personal Assistant for Rs 3.50 lakh, an Assistant Chief Medical Officer for Rs 3.25 lakh, and two Nursing Orderlies for Rs 3 lakh. A Superintendent of the CGST was also caught accepting Rs 2.50 lakh.
