Chandigarh, Dec 17 (NationPress) Haryana Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, also the Chairman of the Haryana Rail Infrastructure Development Corporation (HRIDC), stated on Wednesday that considerable progress has been made in various flagship rail infrastructure initiatives throughout the state.
During the 33rd meeting of the HRIDC Board of Directors, Rastogi reviewed the current status of ongoing projects.
The meeting highlighted that the Kurukshetra Elevated Track project is nearing completion. All civil, track, signaling, telecommunication, and overhead electrification tasks for the viaduct are finalized. The elevated platform's construction also stands at an advanced completion stage.
Once completed, these works will be submitted for technical evaluation by Northern Railways, followed by an inspection from the Commissioner Railway Safety.
Chief Secretary Rastogi urged officials to hasten the project's progress. Given the expertise gained by HRIDC, he proposed that the corporation expand its operations and aim for a broader national presence.
Regarding the Eastern Orbital Rail Corridor stretching from Sonipat to Palwal through Baghpat, Ghaziabad, and Gautam Buddha Nagar, the meeting revealed that the alignment study has received approval from a steering committee led by the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, and the feasibility study is now progressing well.
In discussing the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor, Chief Secretary Rastogi noted substantial advancements on multiple fronts. The Manesar-Patli segment of the project and the Maruti railway yard were commissioned in June 2025, leading to the loading of 372 rakes from the Maruti facility in Manesar.
This represents a significant achievement for the company, and revenue generation for the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor has commenced. The in-principle forest clearance for Stage I has also been obtained, and an application for Aravalli clearance has been submitted for approval.
Moreover, significant progress has been made in land compensation, with the disbursement of Rs 1,533 crore against land awards totaling Rs 1,878 crore. Additionally, Rs 99 crore has been disbursed concerning arbitration awards.
