Lucknow, Feb 26 (NationPress) As the vibrant Hindu festival of Holi nears and the sacred month of Ramadan is in progress, All India Muslim Jamaat leader Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi urged individuals from all faiths on Thursday to honor each other's religious beliefs to foster peace and unity during the festivities.

The Hindu community is poised to celebrate Holi on March 5, while Muslims are currently observing Ramadan, a revered month characterized by fasting and devotion.

Given the overlap of these significant occasions, local authorities nationwide have implemented comprehensive security measures to uphold public order and avert any potential incidents.

In an interview with IANS, Maulana Razvi emphasized that the simultaneous celebration of these festivals necessitates mutual respect and collaboration.

"With Holi approaching, we remember that it coincided with Ramadan last year. Muslims honor all religious celebrations, and for the sake of peace, communal harmony, and unity, they adapt their plans when any religious observance overlaps with Ramadan, Eid, Friday prayers, or Urs," he stated.

He expressed optimism that this year would see improved coordination.

"In the upcoming days, we expect enhanced arrangements for Holi. I urge all Hindu and Muslim brothers to uphold peace and adhere to government directives," he remarked.

The cleric also specifically called on both communities to practice restraint throughout the celebrations.

"I request Muslims to stay indoors until noon on Holi. I also ask the Hindu community to refrain from applying colors on Muslims during the festival, ensuring a peaceful celebration without any tension," he added.

Meanwhile, law enforcement officials have heightened security protocols, particularly in sensitive regions, to guarantee that the celebrations are conducted smoothly.

Authorities have reported an increase in surveillance, particularly on social media, to prevent the dissemination of false information and identify potential troublemakers.

In various cities, including Vrindavan, security measures have been bolstered with additional police presence, increased patrolling, and the deployment of drones for aerial observation.

Some metropolitan areas have been subdivided into zones to enable better coordination and rapid response in the event of any incidents.

Administrative officials are conducting regular consultations with local peace committees, including 'Aman Committees', and engaging with community leaders to reinforce collaboration.

Special attention is being directed towards maintaining communication with mosque authorities in regions where Holi festivities and Ramadan practices coincide.

Authorities have reiterated their commitment to ongoing vigilance in the coming days to ensure communal harmony, urging citizens to celebrate responsibly and follow official guidelines during this festive period.
