Following the recovery of the illicit weapons, two FIRs were filed against the three individuals under the Arms Act.
The DCP noted that all accused are currently on the run. Special police teams have been established and deployed to locate and apprehend them promptly.
The police have urged the community to come forward with any information regarding the accused or their activities, assuring that the identities of informants will remain confidential.
Authorities reiterated their commitment to combating rowdyism and criminal behavior, emphasizing that strict measures will be enforced to uphold law and order.
The murder of Junaid Bin Mohammad Bharmoos was perpetrated by a group led by three rowdy sheeters in broad daylight at Chotapool, Yakutpura on December 3, after he intervened to stop them from extorting money.
A total of 12 suspects have been identified in this murder case. While six have been apprehended, the other six remain at large.
Those arrested include Omer Bin Hamza Al Jabri (35), a rowdy and son of notorious criminal Hamza Bin Omer alias Zaffar Pahelwan, Ali Bin Hamza Al Jabri (31), Faisal Bin Habeeb Mohammed (23), Mohammad Maqsood Ali (28), Syed Asghar Ali (20), and Mohammed Taher (25).
The remaining suspects, including Syed Raheem Ghori Shazib from Rein Bazaar police station, Malik Bin Javid, Azhar, Zubair, Riyan, and Kulsum, are still at large.
According to the police, Omer and Ali were attempting to extort money from Farooq, a friend of Junaid, upon learning he had sold a property.
Junaid intervened when Omer and Ali attempted to charge Farooq a commission, a situation he had previously navigated. This led Omer, Ali, and their accomplices to conspire and ultimately attack Junaid, resulting in his tragic death.
