For the past 14 years, Surendra had dedicated himself as a medical assistant in the Indian Air Force, serving in the 39 Wing located in Udhampur. His sacrifice was officially confirmed by the Army Headquarters, which communicated the heartbreaking news to his brother-in-law Jai Prakash via phone. Surendra’s uncle, Subhash Moga, fondly remembered him as a patriotic individual who consistently encouraged local youth to enlist in the armed forces.

Recently returning to duty on April 15 after spending quality time with his family, Surendra had just celebrated the construction of a new home in his village, holding a ‘Griha Pravesh’ (housewarming) ceremony shortly before his return to duty. He leaves behind his wife Seema, an 8-year-old daughter, and a 5-year-old son. His father, Shishupal Singh, a retired CRPF personnel, had passed away previously. Currently, there has been no official announcement regarding when his remains will be transported back to his village for final rites.

Following the devastating news, Surendra’s wife Seema, who was visiting her maternal home in Nawalgarh due to the recent passing of her grandfather, was admitted to the Government District Hospital after her health declined upon learning of her husband’s martyrdom.

District Collector Ram Avtar Meena and Superintendent of Police Sharad Chaudhary visited Seema at the hospital to check on her condition, ensuring that the medical staff provided her with special care.

Later, the officials also made their way to the martyr’s village to express their condolences and support to his mother.
