Key Takeaways
New Delhi, March 3 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated on Tuesday that the global community is in search of dependable and resilient manufacturing partners, asserting that India is poised to fulfill this role effectively as global dynamics evolve.
During a post-Budget Webinar centered on the theme of "Sustaining and Strengthening Economic Growth", PM Modi encouraged stakeholders to invest confidently, embrace advanced technologies, significantly contribute to research, and uphold international quality standards.
The Prime Minister noted that with the reconfiguration of global supply chains, India's strong economy has emerged as a beacon of hope for the international community. He remarked on the rapid economic progress being a solid foundation for a Viksit Bharat.
Discussing Free Trade Agreements (FTAs), he highlighted that these agreements have paved the way for new opportunities, placing a renewed emphasis on quality within the Indian industry.
He also emphasized the necessity of understanding international consumers' preferences to develop user-friendly products, stating, “Only then can we capitalize on the opportunities presented by Free Trade Agreements.”
Reaffirming the government's clear vision, the Prime Minister reiterated the core principles: “Build more, produce more, connect more, and export more.”
On the topic of the MSME sector, he indicated that recent reforms in classification have alleviated the expansion fears of small enterprises. While the government continues to support access to credit and technological advancements, he emphasized that the real impact hinges on MSMEs competing globally. “Now is the time for MSMEs to enhance their productivity, elevate quality standards, and integrate with digital processes and robust value chains,” PM Modi stressed.
The Prime Minister identified infrastructure and logistics as key pillars of the national growth strategy, supported by unprecedented capital expenditure in this year's budget. He underscored the importance of enhancing high-speed rail, multi-modal connectivity, and ship repair facilities to improve efficiency.
He reminded the audience that the true benefits of this infrastructure will only be realized when industries and investors align their strategies accordingly.
On urbanization, PM Modi remarked that India's future growth is dependent on the effective planning and management of its cities and called for ideas on how Tier-II and Tier-III cities can emerge as new growth centers. Suggestions in this regard, he noted, will be vital.
The Prime Minister addressed the global shift towards sustainability, noting that markets now consider environmental impact beyond just cost. He mentioned the 'Carbon Capture, Utilisation and Storage Mission' as a critical initiative and urged businesses to embed clean technology within their core strategies. “Industries investing in clean technology promptly will gain better access to emerging markets,” he observed.
Discussing the interconnectedness of various sectors, he explained that manufacturing, logistics, MSMEs, and urban centers are not isolated, but rather are integral components of a unified economic structure. He elaborated on how manufacturing fuels exports while competitive MSMEs promote flexibility and innovation. “This year’s budget has fortified all these pillars,” PM Modi affirmed.
He highlighted the government's initiatives to enhance core capabilities and eliminate existing bottlenecks in the manufacturing sector. “Our focus on sectors such as Dedicated Rare Earth Corridors and container manufacturing aims to strengthen the trade ecosystem,” the PM asserted.
The Prime Minister also spotlighted the 'Biopharma Shakti Mission' introduced in the budget, which aims to establish India as a global center for biologics and next-generation therapies. “We aspire to lead in advanced biopharma research and manufacturing,” PM Modi expressed.
