New Delhi, Feb 6 (NationPress) Emphasizing the Strategic Partnership agreement established between Poland and India during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Warsaw in 2024, Polish Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Wladyslaw Bartoszewski stated that the relationship between the two nations is continuously progressing on an "upward trajectory".
In a special interview with IANS, Bartoszewski elaborated on the visits of Polish leadership to India and highlighted the recent Free Trade Agreement (FTA) signed between India and the European Union, of which Poland is a member.
According to Bartoszewski, "Relations between India and Poland are on an upward trajectory. We signed a strategic partnership agreement with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2024, marking his first visit to Poland in 45 years. It was a fruitful visit. We have also signed the Free Trade Agreement with the European Union, of which we are a part. We explored numerous practical steps concerning military cooperation, digital industry collaboration, security matters, high-tech IT investments, space cooperation, and more," he stated following a productive meeting with the Secretary (West) of the Ministry of External Affairs, Sibi George, in New Delhi, where both parties assessed the India-Poland strategic partnership and discussed the critical aspects of the 2024-2028 Action Plan.
He mentioned that both countries are engaged in discussions regarding business, politics, security, and various other cooperative efforts.
Regarding upcoming visits by Polish and Indian leaders, Wladyslaw Bartoszewski remarked, "We are arranging a visit from our Deputy Minister for Digital Affairs next month. I plan to return here in March, and our Deputy Minister for Development and Technology will also visit in March. We are looking forward to a visit from our Prime Minister to Delhi later this year. Furthermore, we are discussing visits from various officials, including Dr. S. Jaishankar, to Poland later this year."
Bartoszewski added, "So I would say we are discussing business, politics, security, and a wide range of cooperation. The sky is the limit. Not long ago, two astronauts, one Indian and one Polish, went into orbit together, symbolizing our cooperation in the near future."
India and Poland elevated their bilateral relationship to a "Strategic Partnership" level during PM Modi's visit to Poland in 2024. Both parties also agreed on a five-year Joint Action Plan for the years 2024-2028.
