Gurugram, May 7 (NationPress) The national teams of India and South Africa are set to clash in the second installment of the Samarth Championship for Blind Cricket, an International Bilateral Blind Men’s Cricket Series, taking place in Bengaluru from May 12 to 17.
This edition will witness the India men’s blind cricket team competing against the South Africa men’s blind cricket team, scheduled at Sai Krishnan Cricket Stadium, located in Muddenahalli, Bengaluru, from May 12-17.
The event is organized in collaboration with Samarthanam Trust for the Disabled and the Cricket Association for the Blind in India, aiming to enhance awareness and empower individuals with disabilities in India.
Reflecting on this exciting season, the captain of the India Men's Blind Cricket Team, Durga Rao Tompaki, remarked, “Competing against a top-tier team like South Africa provides our players, notably the newcomers, a unique opportunity to evolve, compete, and showcase their skills. Supported by Hyundai, CABI, and Samarthanam, we are prepared to make every match significant.”
In the inaugural edition of the Samarth Championship for Blind Cricket, the Indian men’s blind cricket team triumphed against the Sri Lankan men’s blind cricket team.
This International Bilateral cricket series not only serves as a platform for international exposure but also marks a pivotal step in promoting physical and social development among visually impaired youth across India, as stated by the organizers in a release on Wednesday.
