New Delhi, Dec 16 (NationPress) The surge of GenAI in India's educational landscape continues unabated in 2025, with the nation witnessing three GenAI enrollments every minute, as revealed by a recent report.
According to insights from Coursera, a leading global online learning platform, India accounted for over 3.6 million enrollments, marking the highest figures worldwide among more than 32.8 million registered learners.
The report indicated that 2025 experienced significant nationwide growth in GenAI, data science, cybersecurity, and essential professional skills, underscoring India's swift evolution towards a digitally adept and AI-ready workforce.
Indian learners are actively participating in both fundamental and application-oriented courses such as Google AI Essentials, Generative AI for Everyone, and Generative AI: Introduction and Applications.
Aside from AI, learners are also laying strong groundwork in areas like data, cybersecurity, digital marketing, project management, and finance, reflecting a workforce gearing up for increasingly specialized, digital-centric roles.
The findings revealed that 95 percent of Indian learners reported favorable career outcomes, including attaining new positions or advancing in their current roles, with 55 percent noting salary increments, and 96 percent experiencing personal benefits like enhanced confidence and a greater sense of accomplishment.
“India’s learning momentum is remarkable, emphasizing the nation's pivotal role in Coursera's mission,” stated Ashutosh Gupta, Managing Director for India and Asia Pacific at Coursera.
“With a youthful, driven workforce and a rapidly expanding digital economy, India has a distinctive chance to take the lead on the global stage in the AI era; however, this will necessitate swift and widespread upskilling,” Gupta added, emphasizing Coursera's commitment to providing accessible, job-oriented education that enables India to fully seize this opportunity.
The report further identified a range of the fastest-growing skills in India, encompassing LangChain, Python, cloud technologies, NLP, AI-driven design thinking, data storytelling, data architecture, cybersecurity, digital resilience, human-centered communication, and workplace inclusivity.
