Tehran, Feb 19 (NationPress) Iran showcased a range of new domestically-developed missiles, drones, artillery, and air defense systems on Wednesday, as reported by the official news agency IRNA.
This equipment was presented during the second phase of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Force's "Great Prophet 19" exercise, which took place in southwestern Iran and was attended by the Chairman of the Chiefs of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Mohammad Baqeri, according to IRNA.
Among the systems revealed were the BM-450 ballistic missile (with a range of 200 km), the Fat'h-360 short-range satellite-guided tactical ballistic missile, the Fajr-5 long-range missile, smart precision-guided 122 mm rockets, and the short-range Majid air defense system, as per IRNA's report.
Newly introduced drones included the Mohajer-10 and Mohajer-6 strategic drones featuring enhanced engines, along with various kamikaze UAVs such as the Golaleh, Dalahoo, and Shahoo destroyer drones.
Furthermore, IRNA reported that the IRGC had neutralized several "infiltration" networks associated with the United States and Israel in the northern province of Mazandaran.
The dismantlement of these networks was instrumental in "eliminating security threats and averting potential crises," as stated by Siavash Moslemi, the commander of the IRGC in Mazandaran province.
He refrained from disclosing the number of networks or individuals involved, as well as the dates of the operations, Xinhua news agency reported.
Earlier this month, Iran unveiled three new domestically developed satellites in the Iranian capital, Tehran, to commemorate its National Space Technology Day.
Iranian Defence Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh announced plans for two space launches in the upcoming weeks, prior to the conclusion of the current Iranian calendar year on March 20.
On September 27, 2024, the IRGC Aerospace Force successfully launched the indigenous imaging satellite Nour-3 into orbit.
