Amaravati, July 9 (NationPress) The President of the YSR Congress Party, Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, vehemently criticized the assault on the residence of former MLA Nallapareddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy in Nellore, asserting that the oppressive governance of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is evident through a shocking tally of three murders, six attempted murders, and 12 violent incidents.
In his remarks, Jagan condemned what he termed the violent methods employed by CM Naidu, stating that such attacks and retaliatory politics will not suppress the Opposition's voice.
On the social media platform ‘X’, Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed his concerns, highlighting that the government under Chandrababu Naidu resorts to violent acts, and the recent assault on the former MLA’s home is just another example.
He alleged that this attack was executed with the intent to murder Prasanna Kumar Reddy, a six-time MLA.
“The intimidation of his elderly mother and the chaos inflicted by TDP thugs represents a grave attack on democracy. It is clear that TDP mobs, with the police present, carried out this assault solely to eliminate Prasanna Kumar Reddy,” he stated.
The former chief minister remarked that such an attack had never been witnessed in the Telugu states.
“Chandrababu Naidu, fixated on the ‘Red Book’ Constitution, seems to derive malicious joy from orchestrating attacks through his party's miscreants,” the YSRCP leader commented.
‘Red Book’ refers to a diary held by Chandrababu Naidu’s son, state Minister Nara Lokesh, during last year’s election campaign, where he reportedly noted the names of YSRCP leaders and officials who “will have to answer” for actions taken against TDP leaders during the rule of YSRCP.
Jagan Mohan Reddy stated that the assault on Prasanna Kumar Reddy’s residence was a premeditated plot to obstruct his visit to Chittoor District as the Leader of the Opposition to support the distressed mango farmers.
He further claimed that this attack was also a scheme to distract from significant issues affecting the public.
