Jaipur, Jan 18 (NationPress) Former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar attended the Jaipur Literature Festival (JLF) on Sunday, where he officially launched ‘The Unbecoming’, a book penned by his son-in-law, lawyer Kartikeya Vajpai.

The event took place at Hotel Clarks Amer, attended by JLF producer Sanjoy K. Roy and senior journalist Sanjay Pugalia.

During the session, Kartikeya Vajpai characterized ‘The Unbecoming’ as a deep journey of self-exploration. “The book encourages readers to delve within themselves. Every person has vast potential and numerous talents,” he stated.

The novel’s main character is a cricketer on a quest for his cosmic energy, representing the search for inner strength and self-awareness.

Kartikeya emphasized that genuine excellence arises when stability intertwines with action. “When stability fuses with action, the outcome becomes extraordinary,” he remarked.

Reflecting on his experiences, Kartikeya mentioned that since age 11, he has been pondering how to “create and maintain oneself” amidst life's challenges. “We often grow up focused solely on self-preservation, without truly grasping our identities,” he observed.

He explained that true inner power is attained only when one transcends the five senses. “Meditation is not merely an activity; it unfolds naturally when the senses are tranquil and stable,” he said, referencing a chapter titled ‘Rest in Action’, which highlights the harmony between stillness and movement.

Kartikeya defined success by stating that the pinnacle of achievement for any professional is uncovering creativity throughout their journey. “Creativity is the bravery to embrace your truth,” he explained, noting that authentic expression begins when one stops fretting over external perceptions.

He linked this notion to the philosophical principle of ‘Aham Brahmasmi’, which translates to self-realization.

Senior journalist Sanjay Pugalia, while discussing the book, noted that although it tackles intricate themes, ‘The Unbecoming’ is written in a straightforward and relatable style.

“In Gen-Z language, life is a transition from delusion to solitude,” he remarked, adding that ego serves as humanity’s greatest barrier. He pointed out that the cricketing setting effectively conveys profound messages about honesty, introspection, and internal dialogue.
