Jaishankar expressed his satisfaction after the meeting, stating, "Great to connect with FM Dhananjay Ritish Ramful of Mauritius. We underscored our commitment to advance our strategic partnership."
The 11th iteration of the Raisina Dialogue, India's premier conference focusing on geopolitics and geo-economics, commenced in New Delhi on Thursday. This significant event, organized by the Observer Research Foundation (ORF) in collaboration with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), brings together global leaders, policymakers, scholars, industry experts, and journalists to deliberate on pivotal international issues.
Earlier that day, EAM Jaishankar also met Malta's Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg, where they discussed insights into the maritime sector.
He noted, "Productive discussions with Malta's Deputy PM this afternoon. Grateful for his perspectives on the maritime industry," via a post on X.
Additionally, EAM Jaishankar had a meeting with Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh, which occurred amid the escalating tensions in West Asia following the recent US-Israel strikes against Iran on February 28, aimed at undermining Tehran's missile capabilities.
Throughout the Raisina Dialogue, EAM Jaishankar also interacted with various dignitaries, including French Minister Delegate for Europe Benjamin Haddad, Niels Annen from Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, Tanzania's Deputy Foreign Minister Ng'waru Jumanne Maghembe, GLOBESEC Founder and President Robert Vass, and ECFR Co-founder and Director Mark Leonard.
