Upon receiving the complaint, a discreet verification was conducted, confirming the bribe demand by the public servant, leading to the registration of FIR No. 03/2026 under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 at PS ACB Udhampur and the initiation of an investigation.
A trap team, led by a Deputy SP, was formed, successfully capturing the accused in the act of demanding and accepting the Rs 8,000 bribe from the complainant, witnessed by independent observers.
The ACB team arrested the accused on-site, following legal protocols, and recovered the bribe money in the presence of independent witnesses.
A search was also conducted at the accused's residence located at H.No.215 Ward No. 24 Rehari, Jammu, under the supervision of a magistrate.
Additionally, three FIRs under the Prevention of Corruption Act have been filed against the accused at the ACB Udhampur, which are currently under investigation.
