Los Angeles, Nov 18 (NationPress) Renowned Hollywood actor and producer John Boyega, celebrated for his role in the iconic science fiction series ‘Star Wars’, has outlined the prerequisites for his return to the beloved franchise.
The talented actor has stated that he will only reprise his role in ‘Star Wars’ if Oscar Isaac also makes a comeback to the series, as reported by Female First UK.
At 33, Boyega, who portrayed Finn in the sequel trilogy, has not appeared in the franchise since the release of ‘Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker’ in 2019. He has now expressed that his return hinges on showcasing the “bromance” between his character and Isaac’s X-Wing pilot Poe Dameron in a future film.
During an appearance at Liverpool Comic Con in the UK, he remarked, “Oscar and I are quite stubborn, and we believe that the bromance deserves to be on the big screen.”
As per Female First UK, the Woman King star further noted that any prospective Star Wars movie featuring Finn would require “a fantastic script” and should also include Chewbacca actor Joonas Suotamo, aged 39.
He elaborated, “It needs to be a feature film with an excellent script. I spoke with Joonas earlier today and told him, 'Joonas, you have to join Poe and Finn on their adventure.' So if I get those elements together, who knows what could happen?”
This discussion follows Isaac recently indicating a reluctance to return to both Star Wars and the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) after Disney suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live! due to the host’s remarks regarding the passing of right-wing commentator Charlie Kirk.
When asked about the possibility of returning to Star Wars in an interview with GQ magazine, the 46-year-old Frankenstein actor shared, “Yes, I’d be open to it. However, at the moment, I’m not too keen on collaborating with Disney. If they can find a way to navigate things without succumbing to fascism, that’d be ideal. If that occurs, I’d be open to discussing a journey to a galaxy far, far away, or exploring other possibilities.”
While the prospects of Boyega and Isaac returning to Star Wars remain uncertain, their sequel trilogy co-star Daisy Ridley, aged 33, is confirmed to reprise her role as Rey Skywalker in the upcoming ‘Star Wars: New Jedi Order’.
