Noida, Dec 30 (NationPress) The Kanpur Warriors made a remarkable comeback in the second half, while the Lucknow Lions sustained their unbeaten streak with yet another commanding performance on Day 6 of Season 2 in the Uttar Pradesh Kabaddi League (UPKL) at the Noida Indoor Stadium on Tuesday.

The day commenced with contrasting outcomes in the first match, where the Kanpur Warriors clinched a hard-fought 35–30 victory against the Aligarh Tigers.

Aligarh Tigers, missing their star raider Vinay, were directed by Kunal Bhati, who showcased an exceptional first-half performance, scoring consistently and helping his team execute an early all-out. Aligarh led by five points at halftime. However, the dynamics shifted post-break as Kanpur Warriors solidified their defense and capitalized on Kunal’s quiet performance in the second half.

With Sushant Chaudhary leading the charge, who ended the match with an impressive 17 raid points, Kanpur reversed the deficit, established a five-point lead, and expertly managed the final moments to secure a comeback victory.

The second match of the day featured the Lucknow Lions affirming their dominance with a decisive 42–21 win over the JD Noida Ninjas.

This match began as a tactical defensive showdown, with both teams effectively controlling key raiders, and Lucknow holding a slender one-point advantage at halftime.

The second half opened up as Lucknow's defense, spearheaded by Nishant Raghuvanshi and Mohd Amaan, grew increasingly formidable. Young raider Akash Nain excelled with impactful raids, well-supported by Arjun Deshwal and Arya Deshwal. Lucknow executed three all-outs in the second half, pulling away significantly to uphold their perfect record in the league.

Later, Day 6 will continue with matches featuring the Awadh Ramdoots competing against the Ganga Kings of Mirzapur, the Brij Stars facing the Kashi Kings, and the Sangam Challengers going head-to-head with the Purvanchal Panthers.

On Day 5, the Ganga Kings of Mirzapur finally secured their first victory in UPKL Season 2, edging out the JD Noida Ninjas by two points in a hard-fought match at the Noida Indoor Stadium.

The Lucknow Lions persisted with their dominant performance, achieving a convincing 38–27 win over the Kanpur Warriors, demonstrating control through aggressive raiding, disciplined defense, and two all-out raids. Arjun Deshwal’s super raid was pivotal, while Kanpur relied primarily on Sushant’s 10 raid points.

The Yamuna Yoddhas recorded a lopsided 48–31 victory against the Purvanchal Panthers, building an early lead and sealing the match with two rapid second-half all-outs, led by Ritik Sharma and Lakshya. Lastly, the Brij Stars made a notable second-half comeback to defeat the Sangam Challengers 45–38, driven by Nikhil Chaudhary’s essential super raid, super tackle, and a timely late all-out.
