Gadag, Oct 29 (NationPress) Former Chief Minister of Karnataka, Basavaraj Bommai, claimed on Wednesday that the state turns into a milch cow for Congress whenever elections occur in any part of the nation.
He stated, "Whenever Congress governs in Karnataka, there is a consistent pattern of funds being sent outside the state. Numerous past events substantiate this claim. Just like Telangana, which lacked its own funds, Karnataka has become a milch cow for Congress."
Bommai also remarked that the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, along with Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, professes to uphold the Constitution, yet their actions contradict this stance.
"They advocate one principle while practicing another. Numerous unconstitutional actions are being undertaken. The government is infringing upon citizens’ freedom of speech and fundamental rights, trying to establish a police state in Karnataka,” Bommai stated, referencing the Dharwad High Court Bench's decision to stay the state government's directive against the RSS.
Regarding the so-called ‘November Revolution’ within the state administration, Bommai asserted that he has no association with this alleged revolution.
"The so-called November Revolution is merely a fantasy. In reality, it is the people of Karnataka who are disillusioned with this government. Congress leaders have completely neglected governance. Development has become a distant dream. The absence of financial discipline has led them to engage in political theatrics,” he remarked.
He further alleged that Siddaramaiah has lost command over his cabinet ministers and officials, asserting that no significant developmental projects have been accomplished during the last two and a half years.
"The government should inform the citizens what objectives it achieved during this two-and-a-half-year term,” Bommai insisted.
He also noted inconsistencies in statements made by Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, along with contradictory remarks from various ministers.
On the prospect of a Dalit Chief Minister, Bommai stated they would welcome one.
"As long as Congress holds sway over Karnataka's destiny, the state will never flourish,” he concluded.
