Shivamogga (Karnataka), Feb 1 (NationPress) - The Karnataka BJP state president and MLA B.Y. Vijayendra stated that the budget presented by Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is in harmony with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat and bolsters the country’s development.

After witnessing the Union Budget presentation on Sunday in Shivamogga, Vijayendra informed the media that the budget is built on three fundamental pillars: enhancing productivity, addressing public aspirations, and advocating the principle of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas.”

He highlighted the announcement of numerous schemes aimed at revitalizing sectors like industry, tourism, information technology, and biotechnology, particularly emphasizing the goal of doubling farmers’ incomes. He commended the budget for prioritizing all sectors, showcasing its commitment to youth empowerment. Additionally, he noted that sports development received special attention through various initiatives.

Vijayendra emphasized that the budget prioritizes women’s empowerment and importantly, it is inclusive and comprehensive without introducing any new taxes. He believes this budget will significantly contribute to the comprehensive development of the country, reinforce India’s economic standing in upcoming years, and guide the nation toward becoming a global leader.

He expressed that the budget has been well-received across the nation by various groups, including farmers, women, youth, and the underprivileged. “We all greet with joy the ninth budget presented by Nirmala Sitharaman,” he added.

When asked about the Center's treatment of the state, Vijayendra mentioned that he would address the matter on Monday. He also criticized the government led by Siddaramaiah, stating that their only achievement seems to be continuous criticism.

Former Chief Minister and BJP MP Basavaraj Bommai stated in Haveri that the Union Budget aligns with the projected economic growth rate of 7.4% as outlined in the Economic Survey. He asserted that economic policies have been devised in this context, with a focus on infrastructure and industry, and special funds earmarked for small and medium enterprises.

“The budget strongly emphasizes sectors such as textiles, leather goods, IT, biotechnology, data centers, and semiconductors. Furthermore, foreign medicines are now completely duty-free. All these initiatives align with the four goals set by the Center,” Bommai stated.

He elaborated that the first goal is to ensure economic growth; the second aims to realize the vision of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,’ benefitting farmers, youth, and women; and the third focuses on controlling inflation while fostering growth.

“This budget guarantees inclusive development and caters to all segments of society,” Bommai concluded.
