Mumbai, July 16 (NationPress) Filmmaker-actor Kayoze Irani, who is preparing for the debut of his film “Sarzameen”, expressed that what captivated him most was the father-son narrative at the film's heart.
Kayoze remarked: “As soon as I read the initial outline of Sarzameen, I was certain that I would be a part of this project by the time I reached the intermission. It encompassed everything: action, drama, emotion, and suspense, but the father-son tale truly resonated with me.”
He further shared: “I have always been inclined toward films that carry emotional depth, similar to Bajrangi Bhaijaan. This one felt genuine and incredibly relatable.”
Kayoze also reflected on his relationship with his father, the esteemed actor Boman Irani.
“I have a wonderful relationship with my father, and there exists an unspoken yet profound understanding between a father and son; that’s what rendered this narrative so significant for me,” he noted.
Regarding “Sarzameen”, the film features Prithviraj Sukumaran as Vijay Menon, a man caught between his father's love and his obligations as a soldier, Kajol as Meher, a mother who battles against all odds to keep her family united, and Ibrahim Ali Khan as Harman, a young man facing a dilemma.
This film marks the directorial debut of Kayoze Irani and is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, and Apoorva Mehta under the banner of Dharma Productions.
The film is expected to be a tribute to the nation's spirit, delving into themes of sacrifice, divided loyalties, and the emotional burden of choosing between familial ties and a greater purpose.
‘Sarzameen’ will be available for streaming on JioHotstar starting July 25.
Kayoze made his acting debut in 2012 with Student Of The Year, alongside Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, and Sidharth Malhotra. He has also appeared in films such as Bombay Talkies, Youngistaan, and The Legend of Michael Mishra.
